Biden Mangles the Declaration of Independence…Again

Joe Biden seems to have issues when he tries to quote part of the Declaration of Independence. He seems to have difficulty quoting one sentence correctly all the way through.

Biden was at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Virginia to visit the troops ahead of the Memorial Day weekend and to recognize their service. He ended up talking a lot about his son, Beau, and his service. But then he got to the Declaration.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Not that hard a sentence, one would think. But a rather important one, for a basic understanding of our country. Especially when citing it for the troops.

Here’s Joe today, adding a couple of words — “and women” — leaving others out and dropping off some pretty important words at the end.

With Joe, it became, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men and women are created equal, endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, including Life, Liberty, etc.”

Now some of the words he left out aren’t critical, but the “pursuit of happiness” is a rather significant part. Plus, is he really telling us he can’t finish that sentence? Perhaps he’s telling us that really isn’t important because they want to take that away from us and/or wouldn’t guarantee that right? Funny, the White House Youtube account wouldn’t allow comments on the video of that.

This isn’t the first time he’s had trouble with that same sentence. As I previously reported, Biden had trouble with it during the campaign and when he started quoting it, it went all kinds of wrong.

Remember this from March 2020? It was an instant classic and gave us a memorable line. “We hold these truths to be self-evident, all men and women created by the go you know the, you know the thing!”

Although I do have to admit he actually got more of it out this time than he did during the campaign.

This is just the latest incident. As we reported yesterday, Biden had a real field day — getting math wrong, thinking we were at least in 2024, not knowing what DARPA stood for, and confusing himself over the corporate tax rate. Facts and things like the Declaration of Independence are hard.
